Overview
In terms of missable achievements, Stardew Valley does not have any. It does; however, contain two mutually exclusive achievements. For more information regarding this
please see the permanent choices labeled: "Community Center vs Joja Mart". This can either be handled by backing up a save, and performing both achievements on the same save
or by using two completely different playthroughs.
Permanent Choices
Farm Type
With Update 1.1 and after, the first permanent choice the player faces is deciding what type of farm they wish to play on.
If this is your first time playing Stardew Valley and your intentions is to complete the achievements of the game, I would either recommend the standard farm or the forest farm. If achievements are
not a primary factor in playing Stardew Valley, feel free to pick any farm you wish.
A simple plot of land, with a large amount of open space to design your farm.
Your farm is spread across several islands and scenic riverbanks. Fish are more common here than usual.
The woods limit your farming space. However, the bounty of the forest is nearly at your doorstep...
Rocky terrain and a winding river make it difficult to design your farm. However, a mineral deposit provides mining opportunities.
There's plenty of good land here, but beware... at night the monsters come out.
Skills
In total, there are 5 different skills. For each skill, you are given a route at level 5. Then at level 10, you are given another route based on the route you took at level 5 for each skill. This is merely
a warning that the choices you take will adversely affect you future choices. So when the time comes, or now, to check the skill section and determine your routes. My preferences are given below:
Farming: Tiller to Artisan (Helps with money making 'Legend' achievement)
Foraging: Gatherer to Tracker (Helps with artifact for 'Complete Collection' achievement)
Mining: Geologist to Excavator (Helps with artifact for 'Complete Collection' achievement)
Fishing: Fisher to Pirate (Helps with artifact for 'Complete Collection' achievement)
Combat: Fighter to Brute (Personal Preference)
Farming and Combat can be worked around; however, foraging and fishing are highly recommended that you keep them as they are. Artifacts are time consuming to come by, so getting all the help you can get
is recommended. Mining on the other hand has ties to minerals with geodes which is recommended, but less so. Geode minerals are less rare than artifacts; however, this still remains a recommendation.
Farm Cave
In order for Demetrius to show up to your farm and present you with the option to do something about the farm cave, the player must earn a cumulative total of 25,000g in earnings.
After that, you'll have Demetrius show up to your farm and ask to setup the Farm Cave giving you the option between Fruit Bats or Mushrooms. This choice is permanent so you need to
determine which of these you would prefer.
Early game, the fruit bats would prove more useful as growing fruits and purchasing saplings for fruit trees is expensive; however, once you have fruit trees established, the fruits that
appear in the cave become less appealing. Mushrooms would take longer to produce as well as the fact that the Secret Woods contains most of these. Now, if you were to select the Forest Farm
as your farm, then I would select the Fruit Bats. If you do not have the Forest Farm and want the long term choice, I would pick the Mushrooms.
Note: Both options will grow their respective products out of season.
Community Center vs Joja Mart
The 'Local Legend' and 'Joja Co. Member of the Year' achievements are mutually exclusive. This means that in one save file, you can only do one or the other and not both. Now, backing up a save
near the end before you obtain either one of these achievements is a viable method to obtaining both achievements with the same playthrough, but not the same file.
Update 1.1 has made it so that
these two achievements are not missable. You will end up with one or the other regardless of how many paths you mix on the way to restoring the town. The achievement that you end up with will
depend on which side you complete the final upgrade with.
Each upgrade in the Community Center correspond to each upgrade in the Joja Co. Membership Card.
Community Center
To begin the restoration of the Community Center, simply enter the town between 8AM and 1PM on a sunny day after Spring 5 and you will get a cutscene with Lewis. Here you will also encounter Junimos and
in a language you can't read will initiate a quest given to you by the Wizard. This quest will grant you access to the Wizard's Tower as well as the ability to communicate the Junimos.
After that, you can begin with dealing with the bundles. Bundles require you to take certain items, and in some instances quality, and turn them into the community center. This will consume the items. For
each bundle the player completes, the player will receive a specific reward and may also receive friendship points with various villagers. If the player completes all of the bundles in one room, then the
player will receive a Pelican Town restoration development.
This is considered the "good route".
Joja Mart
To begin the Joja Mart takeover, simply buy the Joja Membership for 5000g from Morris in Joja Mart. Purchasing the membership will replace the Community Center with a Joja Warehouse. After that, simply
talk to Morris to purchase Pelican Town developments. It would cost 135,000g to buy all the upgrades.
This is considered the "bad route".
Side Note: While you can start the Community Center route, it is possible to switch to the Joja Mart route before you complete all of the bundles and purchase the Membership. This will save money. However,
this only works in that way. Purchasing the membership will effectively close the Community Center and replace it with the Joja Warehouse.

Money
Ultimately, making 10,000,000g will take a while and you shouldn't worry about this until this is the last thing on your list. However, I will describe tactics that will help you get the most
return for your money.
Farming while Playing
Early game, you'll want to try to focus on purchasing seeds for crops that can regrow. This helps early game as it lowers the amount of money you spend on seeds. Then once you get a larger bank going, you can
start focusing on the larger plants whose seeds cost more, but also give a good return on produce.
A good tip to know is that resting in the Spa just north of the Mountains will restore your energy allowing you to water more plants in the same day without the use of items nor sprinklers until you can obtain
enough resources to make sprinklers.
Farming at the End
While the pricing for artisan goods as well as ancient fruit wine was lowered, it is still a viable method to earn money. Even more so since you can age products inside casks with the new cellar
upgrade for the house. If you're at the end, you should have the cellar upgrade, as well as the greenhouse. You'll also need 116 ancient fruit seeds. This is the maximum number of plants you grow in the
greenhouse when accounting for the required number of sprinklers to avoid time wasted by watering plants.
Initially, ancient fruit plants take 28 days to grow, then will reproduce fruit every 7 days. So you will have to harvest crops every 7 days. It also takes 6-7 days to convert fruits into wine, so you will also
retrieve all your wine as well. To make wine, you'll need kegs and a minimum of 116 kegs to handle the equal number of produce that gets harvested each week. After that, with the cellar upgrade, you can increase
the price of wine by aging it. It takes 14 days to obtain Silver Star, 28 days to obtain Gold Star, and 56 days to obtain Iridium Star. Basic math will tell you that it's impossible to age wine faster than it is
to produce wine. It takes 2 weeks to make Ancient Fruit wine. Then it takes at least 2 weeks to improve the star rating. Now the hard part is to have 8 sets of 116 casks, that way each week you will receive a
shipment of Iridium Quality Ancient Fruit Wine, which will free up 116 casks for the new batch of 116 Ancient Wine.
Despite a Shed being available, the maximum number of kegs a shed can hold and be interactable is 67. In contrast, the Barn can hold 90 kegs which makes it a better storage option. The cellar can also only hold
a maximum of 125 accessible casks (189 total slots). So use buildings to your advantage for storage.
After all that, execution is left. Simply sleep for 7 days straight, harvest your fruit and wine. Place the new fruit into kegs, and place the new wine into casks and then take out the finished aged wine and sell
them off. Rinse repeat every 7 days.
Side Note: If your relationship with players is at maximum (8 for marriage candidates/10 for non-marriage candidates), your relationship with them WILL NOT lower over time. Your farm however, will incur some damages
over time such as fences, and pathing being broken and weeds growing.
What to do with 10,000,000g?
Visit the Casino to buy the Statue of Endless Fortune. It costs 1,000,000g and produces Diamonds, Iridium Bar, Omni Geodes, Gold Bars, or a Villager Favorite (on their birthday).
